A message from the Executive Director surrounding the Azimuth Collection
Dear Patron, thank you for your interest and sincere engagement with our organization, mission, and collection. We have been humbled in recent days with the amount of attention that our organization has garnered since our first pop-up exhibition. It is with that enthusiasm that I must share some unfortunate news surrounding the Azimuth Collection and its contents.
While I am certain my predecessor had every intention to make our collection accessible, it has come to my attention that some items in Series 3 contain sensitive information that should not be made accessible to the general public. Namely, contents of the magnetic tapes located in Box 2. We have received multiple requests from independent researchers to digitize and release the contents of those tapes, and while I believe my predecessor intended to do as much, we cannot at this date publish the audio held within. Additionally, our reading room location at Jessamine Street is currently unavailable for appointments due to an unprecedented amount of requests. Our current infrastructure cannot support this, and as such I made the difficult decision to temporarily close our reading room to non-LHS researchers.
I am well aware at the frustration this may cause, as well as potential disruptions to crucial research in paranormal and spiritualist histories. I ask our Patrons and Supporters to remain patient with us while we continue to transition our leadership into a new era and direction.
Again, thank you for your continued support and sharing our excitement for our mission. We look forward to sharing more with you in the coming months.
